MID OCTOBER HARVEST. This variety was never released by Cornell because the apples are big and wonky, anything but perfectly apple shaped. The flavor, though, is excellent, not too sweet, with a twang of tartness. Makes great cider, crisps, and pies! Very reliable, workhorse apple tree in our orchard, year in and year out.
